[Public Mountain Conditions Report]

On a short work trip to the lodge, I saw that there was a widespread wet 
avalanche cycle to size 3 last week, when it rained. It looks like it 
rained to 1300 m and the skiing is rugged below that. Up higher, the 
coverage looks good. We found 160 cm at 1300 m. A shear test there 
showed a sudden collapse 110 cm down below the crust that was buried on 
20 November. This crust is only 50 cm above the ground and will be 
anchored by rocks in many places, but planar slopes could be 
problematic. Overall it looks like a decent winter coming up, at least 
up here.
