We witnessed a very close call today with a recreational solo skier.
He set an up track on the climbers right ridge of the big slope above the regular ski slopes of Bow Summit. From the top of the slope he traversed further climbers left under the cliffs.
From talking with him after...he decided to turn around, made 1 or 2 turns, felt the settlement and saw the avalanche below him.
Avalanche details
Sz 3
NE aspect, 2500m
Steep, likely high 40 degrees
Avalanche went to ground. Likely 150+ cm plus crown. There were several features that ran as part of this slide.

We also saw a fresh corniced triggered sz 3 on a NE aspect above Mosquito Creek Hostel this morning.
Play safe out there! With the heavy snowfall expected tonight the avalanche hazard will certainly increase.
