N&W and NS on-site opportunity, November 13

Hello, all:

If you'd like an opportunity to meet some fellow N&W
and NS Groups members and may be in northwestern
Virginia on Saturday, November 13, this is your
invitation.  I'm mentioning this well in advance since
I know members' agendas and travel plans fill up
quickly.

The former N&W station at Boyce, Virginia, at MP H46.1
is undergoing a slow restoration.  It also has a
wireless network, so that while at the station you can
use the Internet if you have a laptop and a wireless
connection.

There will be complimentary beef burgers and beef hot
dogs on the grill at 6:30 PM.  You may arrive earlier
in the afternoon, watch an evening slide or
multi-media program, and camp overnight outside or
inside if you bring your own gear.  Electricity
outside via extension cord is possible, as is
overnight use of a rest room.  Visitors will be
allowed to put their sleeping bags on the concrete
floor of the main waiting room, so bring a cushion. 
If privacy or a good view of the track is desired, you
should bring a tent or a camper.

I hope you'll pardon this interruption to your usual
transmission of N&W/NS topics.  If you're in the
vicinity but not on November 13, please stop by
whenever you can.  Although I am only at the station
most weekend afternoons, you can link to the wireless
network from the parking lot area.
