Dwarf PLs... Derails

If I'm not mistaken, the Arsenal switch diverges from the Westbound (Main 2)
west of the east end of the siding. It is my understanding that if there is
a westbound train moving to the Main 1 (Eastbound main), eastbound
movements, of course, have a Stop signal at the east end. With the eastbound
signal set at Stop, the Arsenal switch is lined for the Arsenal, in effect,
serving as a runaway track for any movement that might pass the Stop signal,
thus avoiding a head-on collision. This has happened, and the derail works!
The Hayes type derail protects westward moves on the Arsenal track from
fouling the Main line(s) in case of unauthorized westward movement.
