The Tidewater Trestle

The railroad authorities it is understood have stopped the gathering on
the trestle, which has been the habit during the recent games of ball in
the park. While those who have been in the habit of sitting there had a
good view of the players, it is considered a dangerous place, and if one
should fall through the trestle either serious injury or death might result.
An officer was yesterday appointed for the Virginian road.

[Article short on many details. Adjacent to this article was in bold
"Baseball at 4:15 today. Roanoke vs. Norfolk". So I'm guessing they wanted
to discourage people from watching from baseball games from the railroad
trestle!]
