Y6 route availability

Were the Y6s (& 5s?) enough heavier than the Y3s that they couldn't go  
some of the same places as the Y3s (such as some mine runs)?  Most of  
the pics I remember of the 6s were on main line trains.

I ask because my HO model RR is laid with Code 70 rail (100 lbs per  
yd?) which is heavy enough for my Y3s and I'm considering getting a  
Broadway Ltd. Y6.  (No one who sees my MR would know the difference,  
but . . . .)
