Schedules for Southern Ry. Nos. 141 and 142 were shown in ETT's but not in
the public timetables. N&W Nos. 9 and 10 were extensions of those trains.
I don't have all the appropriate timetables at hand, but as nearly as I can
determine, N&W Nos. 9 and 10 were discontinued between Monroe/Lynchburg and
Roanoke around 1954. They continued running between Roanoke and Bristol
until around the end of steam passenger operations on the Bristol Line in
1957.
Mainline locals Nos. 23 and 24 were discontinued around July 1955.
