Where was the "other" depot down along the James River?

Here’s a nice photo showing both Southern Ry bridges over the James. The
new bridge is top center.
Lots of other interesting things to view in this photo including what’s
left of the original V&T depot located immediately west of the freight
station (note one tower of the original two remains). The V&T RR roundhouse
and machine shop stood in the triangle plot of land where Union Station is
located.

of Lynchburg that shows the river crossing Daniels Island. The Google
satellite view of that area around Daniels Island shows the piers in the
river, as this view shows.
