Freight trucks

Please educate me on another aspect of the N&W.  I am seeing references to drawings for T41, T46 etc.  Did the N&W cast their own freight trucks?  Design their own freight trucks?I see some drawings have Buckeye Castings listed.  I see Barber S2 on TopGons.  Did they not use Andrews, or Barber, or other manufacturers or did they just have drawings of these for repair etc.Is there an Arrow article I can read?Thank you,Mike Shockley
