John W Barriger III

John W Barriger III (1899-1976) had a career as a railroad executive.  Wikipedia gives an overview of his accomplishments and the railroads he served.

His sons, John W Barriger IV and Stanley Barriger, also had careers as railroad executives.  Post-retirement, the sons founded the John W Barriger III National Railroad Library as a repository for their father's papers, books, and massive photo/negative collection.  The St. Louis Mercantile Library is located at the University of Missouri-St Louis.

Son John W Barriger IV died in 2020.
