1. CENTER TRUSTEES SOUGHT
The Pride Center of New Jersey is currently seeking new members for its
Board of Trustees, the governing body of the organization. Interested
candidates should bring a commitment to the Center's growth and
advancement, be able to attend meetings of the board and participate on
a board sub-committee or bring a particular skill or community
connection to the board. Business professionals, community leaders,
people of color, women and those with fundraising expertise are
especially encouraged to apply.  Interested parties should submit a
letter of interest to Secretary Jules Huang, PO Box 5130, New Brunswick,
NJ 08903 or to info at pridecenter.org by October 30, 2002.  For additional
information, please contact President Ray Johnson at 732-247-0515. Three
year terms begin in January 2003. Be part of the growing Pride Center
team!

2. ART SHOW & SALE
The Pride Center of NJ is proud to invite you to an ART SHOW & SALE at
The Pride Center on Saturday November 16, 2002 from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Admission is FREE!  Refreshments will be available.  Viewings of some of
New Jersey's most accomplished artists will be on display at this
first-time event.  Please mark your calendars and come out to support this 
new Pride Center of New Jersey event!

3. OUT OF THE BOX
Performance of all types will be showcased at The Pride Center of New
Jersey's new series OUT OF THE BOX hosted by spoken-word performer
Pandora Scooter.  Held on the third Friday of each month, this open-mic
series welcomes all types of performance.  The first night is Friday,
November 15th at 8:00 pm.  Cost: $5 ($3 for students).  The Pride Center
of New Jersey is located at 1048 Livingston Avenue in North Brunswick.

www.pridecenter.org.  "Listeners and sharers alike are welcome,"
explains Pandora Scooter, host of the series.  "I'm thrilled to be a
part of creating an all-inclusive open-mic experience."  While the Pride
Center specifically serves the GLBT community, everyone is invited to
join this event and share their poetry, music, dance, comedy or other
artistic expressions at the open-mic.

4. OUTREACH COMMITTEE
The purpose of this Outreach Committee is to bring more people into the 
center primarily focusing on women, health, youth, seniors and people of 
color.  We are hoping that by having this Outreach Committee we can start new 
groups and bring people into existing programs as well. WE WANT TO MAKE THE 
CENTER MORE DIVERSE!  And with this we are asking everyone interested in 
making this possible to atleast come to the meeting to see what its about!

5. JOB SEARCH & NETWORKING GROUP - November 14 
Are you unemployed?  Need advice on that resume?  Are you a recruiter? A
hiring manager? The Pride Center is starting a new program on the 2nd 
Thursday of each month to help those in the GLBT community network to
find a new job. Professionals are welcome to come volunteer their services. 
The next meeting will take place on Thursday November 14, 2002. Refreshments 
provided.

6. OWLS 
Women!  Join a new group called Older Wilder Lesbians!  It meets on second 
Thursdays at the Center. Next meeting is Thursday November 14th at 7:30 PM

7. SALGA
SALGA is the South Asian Lesbian & Gay Assocation!  Come attend the next 
group meeting on Saturday November 16th at 4:30 PM at The Pride Center.

8. TUESDAY GROUP
LGMNB continues to meet on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at The Pride Center at 8:00 
PM. Refreshments and social on November 12.  Guest Speaker on Disability and 
Sex on November 26.

9. GALY NEW BRUNSWICK
Gay and Lesbian Youth meets at The Pride Center on 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Saturdays from 2 pm to 5 pm. This group is for ages 16 - 21. Next GALY 
meeting is Saturday November 16th at 2 PM.

10. ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS ARE IN!
Those fabulous Entertainment 2003 coupon books are now available from the 
Pride Center of NJ!   Thousands of dollars in savings on dinners, movies, 
vacations, dry cleaning, sports, shopping and more!   We can provide books 
for anywhere!  Local books in stock at The Pride Center.  Great holiday gifts 
for you or others! Each sale helps The Pride Center.

11. GAMES NIGHTS!
Come and join the fun at Games Nights at The Pride Center!  If you don't have 
a CLUE, are willing to take a RISK, don't already have a MONOPOLY on fun, 
then put this night on your calendar - Tuesday November 19th at 7:30 PM.
