The Pride Center of New Jersey is seeking LGBTI seniors to participate in a focus group on senior issues.  The focus group discussions will help develop questions in a more formal survey to address the needs and concerns seniors in the LGBTI community share.  With everyone's input and feedback, the survey may serve as a basis to obtain the necessary funding to create senior programs in the future.  Hence, the focus groups pave the way toward potential services for seniors in our community.   

On a date to be determined, participants will spend 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the focus group, composed of 10 to 15 individuals over age 40, but particularly ages 65 and older, reflecting the State's socioeconomic diversity.  In addition to refreshments, participants will receive a small keepsake as a token of appreciation.  The Pride Center of NJ will be the site of the first focus group, with additional focus groups scheduled throughout the state.  Transportation will be provided to those in need.

To better serve the needs of the LGBTI senior community, Ellen Gilio, Esq., Executive Director of the Pride Center of New Jersey, and Gary L. Stein, J.D., M.S.W., Executive Director of New Jersey Health Decisions, have initiated and are CO-facilitators this Pride Center Senior Project.
