1. NEW GROUP! OVEREATERS ANONYMOUS
Overeater's Anonymous: Mondays, 7:30pm. A program of
recovery for compulsive overeaters using the 12 Steps
and 12 Traditions. Although the only requirement for
membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively,
there will be a GLBT special focus. For more
information, please contact Mark D. at 973-879-3038.

2. YOUTH GROUP - Jan 21
The Pride Center's Youth-Drop In meets from 1 to 4
p.m. on the second, third and fourth Saturday of the
month. If you're 17 and under and looking to meet
other GLBTIQ youths, give us a try. We talk about
what's happening at your school, play games, watch
movies, plan socials, eat snack food, veggies and
fruit -- and just hang out. It's fun. Have questions?
Call the Pride Center and leave a message. Someone
will get back to you.

3. OUT OF THE BOX - Jan 20
THIS FRIDAY, all the way from Tuscon, Arizona! The
fabulous genre-busting, rockin' out out out NAMOLI

Out of the Box is an open-mic series for all
performers.$5 suggested doantion, $2 students. light
gnosh and beverages served.

9th Annual Eastern Regional Womyn of Colour Conference

Shaping & Defining Your Future: Personally,
Physically, and Politically
Saturday & Sunday, March 4 - 5, 2006
Rutgers University, Newark NJ
This two-day conference will provide enlightening
workshops that will address our intellectual,
emotional, and spiritual being. It will focus on the
uniqueness of our diversity as well as our individual
strengths. The days will include several empowering
workshops addressing these topics of interest and
concerns for womyn, as well as entertainment, arts and
so much more.
The conference is being planned by several womyn of
colour organizations and individuals who contribute
greatly to the l/g/b/t/i community. Some of the
organizations consist of:
African Ancestral Lesbians United for Societal Change
(AALUSC)
Audre Lorde Project (ALP)
Liberation in Truth Church Unity Fellowship Church
Metropolitan Community Church of Christ the Liberator
Pride Center of New Jersey
SableMagazine
South Asian Lesbians and Gay Assoc. (SALGA)
South Jersey Lesbians of Colour (SJLOC)
Workshop topics will include sex and sexuality,
spirituality, labor issues, legal concerns, racism or
sexism among women, bi-cultural relationships,
community violence, mental and physical health & well
being, parenting/adoption/family issues, finance and
real estate.
Each registered participant will receive free valuable
give-a ways just for attending this event. Complete
hot gourmet breakfast and lunch will be provided.

1/31/05

Gender Rights Advocacy Association of NJ (GRAANJ):
Advocacy group committed to securing full civil rights
for transgender, intersex and people of
non-stereotypical gender identity and expression.
Meets First Sundays @ 1p.m.

NJ Education Association – LGB Caucus: Group for New
Jersey’s gay educators. Meets one Friday per month
during school year. See calendar for latest scheduled
dates.

Lesbians and Gay Men of New Brunswick: Social,
educational, rap, potlucks, for everyone. Meets second

Long Yang Club-New Jersey: For gay Asians and Pacific

Orthodykes: Helping women who are traditional Jews and
lesbian, bisexual or transgender live at peace with
those two aspects of identity. Meets first Sundays,
7:30 - 9:00pm.

OWLS-Older Wilder Lesbians: Group of mature lesbians
who meet to socialize, plan group outings and have
fun. Meets third Fridays @ 7:30 p.m.

Team NJ: Gives New Jersey's athletes and
recreationalists an organization that helps build
sportsmanship, competition and team spirit through
various activities: softball, volleyball, bowling,
inline skating, swimming, hiking, tennis, running,
biking and social activities. Meets Third Thursdays,
7:30 p.m.

**Support Groups**

Lesbians and BiWomen in Heterosexual Marriages: Offers
group members the necessary support and encouragement
to either remain in, or change, their present
situation. Meets third Wednesdays at 7:30pm.

Men's Coming Out Group: A moderated discussion group
for issues related to coming out as gay or bisexual
men. Men vote on the topic of the day. Meets every

Pride Families:

A social Group for GLBT households with children. If
you are part of a GLBT household with children, The
Pride Center is starting a Family Support Group,
"Pride Families". If you are interested in becoming
involved please e-mail pride-families at hotmail.com


Together We Can: Open discussion group for persons
dealing with emotional, mental and addictive problems.
Issues such as relationships, HIV/AIDS, sexuality,
gender identity, grief and loss, and substance abuse
are addressed. Meets Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.

Women's Peer Support Group: Provides a positive,
affirming, and empowering environment in which women
share their stories, relate to each other, and gain
insight into a variety of issues. Meets second and
fourth Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.

mechanic? You’re a phone call away from finding local
businesses, service providers, and organizations that
are either lesbigay-owned or lesbigay-friendly. Our
volunteers work hard to maintain our business
database, and will be happy to assist you over the
phone in finding a referral. Call our Infoline at

magazines, videos and other periodicals from our
lending library. Read up on the latest happenings and
special events in the NJ-PA-NYC region, and help
yourself to free periodicals such as PGN and Out In
Jersey. Check out apartment listings and job

Roommate Listings: A bulletin board is available at
The Pride Center, for posting Roommate Wanted
listings. Feel free to call 732-846-2232 to have a
volunteer create a listing for you, or to review
listings available. Also please make use of our online
roommate listing service. Listings posted online will
automatically be deleted after 90 days. Note that the
online listings may differ from those posted at The
Center.

**Recreation and Social Activities**

Game Night: An opportunity to bring your favorite game
and meet others in a fun environment. Third Tuesdays
at 7:30 p.m.

Women's Coffee House: Entertainment, Food, Fun,

"Out of the Box" Open Mic Night: Calling all
musicians, dancers, comedians, poets, bicycle jugglers
and unboxable performers. An open-mic and showcase

Under the Rainbow: Both a discussion group and a
social group for young GLBT people ages 18-25. The
group meets the first and third Wednesday of each
month at 7:30pm.

Youth Drop In: For LGBTIQ youth and their straight
allies ages 17 and under. Meets second, third and
fourth Saturdays at 1:00 p.m.
