1. OUT OF THE BOX Open-Mic Series - Jul 20
Dear Open-Mic Lovers:
This Friday, August 17th at 8:00 pm will be
OUT OF THE BOX, the open mic for all types of
listeners and performers jugglers, comics, poets,
musicians, rappers, bicycle balancers, dramedians,
ranters, etc!!!
 
ALL ARE WELCOME at the Pride Center of NJ

This month featuring SHADOKAT: SLAM, BAM, SHZAM Poet!

Jersey listeners and sharers alike welcome.

$5 suggested donation/ $3 for students
free low-octane beverages and light gnosh served
info on how this open-mic works.... doors open around
7:45 pm.  folks come on by and sign up on the list as
they arrive.  we try to get everyone up on the mic who
signs up.  priority is given to those who get there
earlier.  count on having between 6 and 8 minutes,
depending on how many peopel are on the list. (Again,
if you show up earlier, you may end up with a bit more
time).  at 8:00 pm we begin and folks who signed up
are called up to share.  And an awesome time is had by
all!  :-)

2. MEN'S COMING OUT GROUP - Aug 8
A moderated discussion group for men which meets every
Wednesday from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

3. NJ FURS - Aug 11
A social group that meets in a safe space to discuss
ideas.  A public community, anyone is welcome to
inquire or join.  Most members are gay or bisexual. 
Meets second and fourth Saturdays at 2pm.


3. NAMES Project Picnic - July 22
The 8th annual Pride Picnic, an AIDS Memorial Quilt
fundraiser, takes place rain or shine from 1 pm to 6
pm on July 22 at Grove #2 in Johnson Park, Piscataway.
There is plenty of food, fun playing badminton,
volleyball, horshoes or lawn darts, or bring your
favorite lawn game.  Advanced tickets (purchased by
July 16) are $15, $7 for children under 12. After July
16, tickets are $18, $9 for children under 12.   Call

4. MOVIE NIGHT - Aug 11
This month "MOVIE NIGHT" features a fabulous film
entitled "Gay Sex in the 70s". Starts at 7:00 PM.

Filled with hot guys and even hotter footage and
stories, Gay Sex in the 70's documents the New York
City gay scene during the period from Stonewall to the
beginning of AIDS. It's a fascinating look at the
world of non-stop sex, drugs, dance, and clubbing as
told by the guys who were there. 

Donation of $6.00 includes candy, soda, and popcorn
just like mom used to microwave! Movie shown in the
loft on our fabu DVD projector. 

5. RAINBOW FAMILY BEACH DAY - Aug 12
A Day at the Beach With Rainbow Families
of New Jersey
August 12th, 2007
10:00am-4:00pm
Bradley Beach, NJ
Things to know

Parking is on the street.
We will meet at the badge booth on the boardwalk (near
Ocean Avenue and Park Place) at 10:00am. Those who
arrive later, look for our banner or a rainbow flag on
the beach.
Each person is responsible for purchasing her/his own
beach badge - $7/day for adults; no charge for
children ages 13 and under.
RFNJ will provide juice, water and sand toys.
There are bathrooms, snack bars and playgrounds in
walking distance.

6. SIXTH ANNUAL PICNIC - Sept 29
The Pride Center of NJ's 6th Annual Picnic takes place
on Saturday, September 29th, 2007 from noon to 6 PM at
Veteran's Park, Roosevelt Avenue in North Brunswick,
NJ.
Cost: $15 members, $22 non members.

6-12 year olds only $12

Details: BBQ includes hot dogs, hamburgers, sausage
and peppers, salads and dessert table, soft drings and
water. Games for everyone!

7. BOWL-A-THON - Oct 20 
Benefitting The Pride Center of NJ
When: October 20, 2007
Where: Brunswick Zone Carolier, 790 US Highway Rt 1,
North Brunswick, NJ 08902
Lunch: At Fiddleheads afterwards: 27E Railroad Ave,
Jamesburg, NJ 08831

Bring in $125 in sponsorships and then lunch, bowling
and shoe rental are included!  A fun way to lend your
