June is Pride
Month !!!!!!!!!!

 

The Pride
Center has a float and is marching again this year in the Asbury Park Pride Parade and Festival this coming
Sunday.  We will also have a booth at the Festival. 

 

If you would
like to be on the info list for the marchers for this year, please send an
email to Jennifer Marshall at jlmarshallesq@ gmail.com 
She is a Board Trustee and leader in the Come Out and Play group that is
coordinating the march this year.

produce.  This will be a benefit for
Elijah's promise soup kitchen - Pandora Scooter will be hosting and performing.

Out of the Box - Jersey Pride - 2:00 pm

Asbury Park, NJ

Out of the Box comes to Jersey Pride! The Jersey Pride festival happens only
once a year, so why not make it extra-special by coming to an amazing open mic?
Performers of all types are welcome -- Listeners, too. Come enjoy poetry, song,
comedy and rants and raves and laughs with an amazing community. Hosted by
Pandora Scooter - for more information on what Out of the Box is all about, see
the "Open Mic" page at www.pandorascooter.com.

 We particularly want
folks to show up for this event so that we can start to make a case for a 2nd
stage at Pride -- an acoustic/family friendly/poetry stage.  So, come to
show your support and be part of the movement.   The Zen Zone is a space at this year's Pride to celebrate
personal and planetary wellness, and the voices of the grassroots LGBTQI
community.

Joyful Heart Foundation Fundraiser - 4pm

Price: $10

This fundraiser is for the
Joyful Heart Foundation whose mission is to heal, educate and empower survivors
of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse and shed light into the
darkness that surrounds these issues. Pandora Scooter will be performing around
6:00 pm.



3. NJ Pride Events

 

New Jersey’s 19th Annual LGBTI
Pride Celebration sponsored by Bank of America and presented by Jersey Pride
will be held on Sunday, June 6 in Asbury Park. 
The Pride Celebration takes place from noon to 7 pm, rain or shine.  I features a parade, headline performers,
food, arts and crafts, exhibits and community information, activities for the
entire family, and the best in local, regional and national entertainment.  

 

The entertainment stage this year will rock
with headline performances and the best of local and regional talent including
Rohcelle Fleming of First Choice. It was her vocals that propelled songs “Dr
Love”, “Love Thang”, “Double Cross” and “Let No Man Put Asunder” into dance
club anthems.  She will be joined by man
other exciting entertainers.

 

The parade, complete with floats and
hundreds of marchers will step off at Main Street and Cookman Avneue at
noon.  For more information, visit
