Yes and no. Candy green is a darker color, as a reference I'd say it is
between 7-Up and Sherwood.  If you have the current  printing of
Duchossoir's "The Fender Stratocaster", there is a great color photo of a
Candy Green Elite Strat in the color section on page 41 that is very
accurate.

No, all production EC strats have a poly finish, and will not wear like
vintage guitars finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. They will wear, but it's
not the same look at all - for instance, poly tends to "crystallize" around
dings instead of chip like nitro.

For what it's worth, all of EC's personal EC strats are finished in Poly,
and most of his necks are finished in cyanoacrylate (super glue) which gives
a great feel but wears quickly!
