Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays everyone.

My last reply to this thread got lost in cyberworld....so will try again.

I'd say about 90% of my rock or "popular" listening is Eric and I am
familiar with all phases of his long career. Personally, I think his guitar
style has matured greatly over the years and I actually prefer his more
recent live playing to that of the early days. It all really just comes
down to a matter of personal taste, and some of us like all the new places
and directions Eric has taken us and others wish he would stick with fiery
blues playing (which he can and still does, by the way : ). I like the
variety of Eric's musical expression myself, and am willing to give every
song a chance at my growing list of favorites even if it doesn't feature a
guitar solo. For example, my favorite tracks from Reptile would be the
title track, Got you on My Mind, Travelin' Light, Come Back Baby, Don't let
me be lonely...,I want a little girl (the live versions on that one are more
interesting), and even Believe in Life <g>....that little list of songs
includes quite a variety of styles which is fine with me. I love the blues
and I love to hear Eric burning through a great blues solo, but I really
think I'd get bored if all his recordings and performances were strictly
blues.
