Went to the Greenville SC Clapton show Saturday....
For those of you who want the short version of my review, this is it.      "Sweet Jesus, God Is Back"

Now for those who may want a few details read on.

Everyone's older, with their kids, eating nachos, pizza, cotton candy, etc... 
Oh back to the recorder.....they wand everyone that went in. I heard comments that it wasn't not an airport.
I may have been able to get it in if I wore boots and long pants but that was it. And besides that my seat was not
where I thought it was. Matter of fact the seat I was sitting in I thought was good til they ran me off and took me
to my correct seat.......30 rows closer to the stage and center stage. I had an aisle in front of me and beside me
and this security guy sitting in the aisle with his back to to the stage. (keep folks from getting closer with out correct ticket)
looking at me. I was 22 rows dead center back and even Eric seemed to be looking at me at times. No way I could have taped it
if I had got it in. 

EC still to me seems to be concerned with time limits stage. BUT, his playing is friggin out of this world this tour. Lookin back on it I realise they were some great moments in 2001 but compared to this year.....well, there's no comparison. Absolutely NONE.  (except WT which about makes me cringe anymore). There are 5 songs that will set you free.

Walk Out In the Rain ---Awesome, brought back many memories
I Shot The Sheriff -----best way to describe it is like you grabbing ahold of an electric fence. But kinda funny, no one there knew what it was at first. Everyone in the arena was standing during the solo
Milkcow's Calf Blues 
Got To Get Better----although the crowd didn't seem to know whis one, with a few exceptions, but everyone was into it by songs end.
HYELAW

There was more guitar in this show than I've seen out of Eric since '95.  Jimmy Vaugh was fantastic and came on for the encore.
No SOYL. Only Sweet Home Chicago. Got a pick from Lee. Went to the front when Layla cranked up. Security guard tried to grab me but he was too lazy to get out of his chair.

Gotta tell you 'all something. Don't blow EC off this year because of 2001....THERE IS NO COMPARISON
