I am almost done creating a cover for the "Crossroads Festival" set, and I THOUGHT that I had downloaded a photo from one of the news reports that showed Jeff and Eric jamming, but can't find that, either. Anyone who happened to download a good shot or two of them, if you could please e-mail it to me ( jdunaway65 at yahoo.com ), and I will complete this cover.

Mark, do you want me to send you the completed cover (of course with a signed affidavit, notarized and fingerprinted -- LOL) to post on your site?

[Mark] You forgot a note from your mother - or anyone's mother if she is not available! Thanks but no, I've washed my hands of the Crossroads Concert for now, frankly I'm disgusted with the whole thing. A freakin' satellite broadcast, available not only on Sirius but on the #2 most popular satellite TV network, and seemingly no one can manage to record it straight to digital. Well, a few people did record it DigiSat -> DAT, but for some reason won't seem to let it out. I guess being a newbie I've got nothing to offer in trade. Meanwile, people are wetting their pants over an incredibly bad webcast. I don't see how anyone can listen to it - I've got 30 year old audience recordings that are far more listenable, due to the awful compression artifacts present in the webcast. I don't know why I am shocked .... many people think mp3 sound "just fine" so it should be no surprise.

Meanwhile I've wasted time trading for 4 different sets of this show now, all supposedly in "excellent quality", and I've varied between throwing them away, microwaving the CDs, and even better, loading them in the skeet thrower and using the 12 gauge to get some entertainment out of them.

Thank goodness for the bootleggers, I've my fingers crossed praying for a Mid Valley or similar release - it will be expensive, and worth it, because at this point it appears that the only way to get top quality of a US broadcast is to wait for the Japanese collectors to do their thing since those guys have their s&!t together and an ear for quality.

So, the only artwork that will be listed will be for "Official" bootleg releases - sorry. But I'll take an affidavit just for fun ;)

Cheers,
Mark

PS Amusing Rant #2: It's 2004, right? Not 1970? So the Christie's auction was broadcast - not CCTV mind you, but *broadcast*, yet no one can record it to DVD? Keep in mind that Voom is HDTV service - the folks that subscribe can afford a 16x9 HDTV, HDTV receiver, etc. and not a bloody $350 DVD recorder? Oh pleeeaaassseeeeeeeeee.
