[Slowhand] MSG

I have been following the MSG threads with interest. I
attended all 3 shows and walked away thoroughly
satisfied. I believe he is playing better than he has
in the last ten years. And while I agree that I knew
the setlist,and I knew I wasn't going to hear the
songs I would have chosen..that was ok because I knew
that going in. I am an elder statesman who goes back
to the 60's with EC and have seen him live over 100
times...that is not patting myself on the back just
stating that I have been around the block a few times.
And yes, there were some EC shows down through the
years that were downright awful. I thought the Pilgrim
and Reptile shows had some enjoyable moments but were
overall not his best work. After seeing the MSG shows
it seems he came with an attitude that was previous
lacking...he was more animated then I have ever seen
him...and his playing was fiery and fluid...you can
debate the setlist and the merits of hearing Wonderful
Tonight again...but I do not see how you can fault the
essence of what you came to see EC do....play guitar.
