In answer to Lisa Johnston's question:- If Paradise Is Twice As Nice was an
old Amen Corner number back in the 60's and Andy Fairweather-Low was (if I'm
not mistaken) the lead singer in that group. AF-L joined in on the New
Year's Bash for the first time in 1997 when the band was called Spiritual
Tools and the number was sung by Andy at that show. It was done again for
the 1999 New Year concert when the band called themselves The Grave
Emotional and Mental Disorders and yet again in 2000 when they came out as
The Conscious Contact. In December 2002 on the Blueberry Hill discs they
came out again as the Usual Band along with AF-L and If Paradise etc was
featured yet again. And finally on 4 Jan 2004 the band appeared at Guilford
Civic Centre for The Last Fling, and guess what? Paradise appears again as
track 8 of this great Mid Valley set. So it looks like EC, for old time's
sake, lets Andy not the best singer around, do his thing.
