Eric said that he does collect them. I would be glad to pass it on to him. Now, let me just meet him. LOL

Q: How does Eric Clapton feel about bootlegs?

A: In the Eric Clapton Album / Thirty Years Of Music And Memorabilia (1996), Marc Roberty writes, "As for Eric Clapton, he collects his bootlegs even though he is on record as saying, 'if bootleggers ruled the world we wouldn't make a living.'" The full quote can be found in Roberty's Eric Clapton / The Complete Recording Sessions (1995): "I don't have an issue on this particular one. I can remember one night playing one of the best concerts of my life, looking down in the front row and seeing a guy with a mike taping. I had the choice of calling someone from security and saying, 'Look, there's a bootlegger!' but then I thought that it would ruin one of the best concerts I've ever done. The record companies would always be against the situation, though, because otherwise musicians couldn't make a living. If bootleggers ruled the world we wouldn't make a living." He also made a general observation about bootlegs while introducing a song from the then not-yet-released Pilgrim album in Japan in October 1997. Clapton noted that "this will probably be on sale in the Ginza tomorrow."

> Recently someone posted an article saying that Clapton really doesn't mind bootlegging as long as they're being traded and not sold.

>
> I read in a review for NBTB on Amazon.com that the reason it was never officially released is not because Warner / Reprise didn't want to, but rather, because, according to a rep for Clapton, EC felt that it focused more on him than his blues heroes.

> If someone gets a chance to meet EC, slip 'em a copy!! He'll love it!! And, he'll realize the fans really dig the show.
