My two cents from Austria (European Union):
I get/send out an average of 1 package of discs a day.
Most of them come and go to overseas. The "blue
ribbon" over the pond was won by a package from here
(Vienna) to New Jersey - 2 1/2 days ! To a slowhander
btw. Even the average of 5 days isn't that bad. From
Austria to Sweden for example it can easily take 4
days too.
Twice a year I get a form from the customs asking for
the value of the content. No matter whether the value
is stated on the package or not. Recently I went to
the customs asking for that. The guy told me, he's
sorry but they HAVE to do some random tests. This
happens, as I stated, maximum twice a year and causes
boring two/three additional days to delivery. That's
all. And don't forget, it happens maximum twice within
about 300 mailings. I don't know ONE single person
that had really serious problems with the customs.
Neither from here in Europe/the European Union, nor
from elsewhere. The related storys I heart came always
"according to reports".
I'm in many vines and I seed at least one a week and I
really enjoy to see how the tunes spread all over the
world. I learned to know quite a number of great
people from this activities. And I would not miss
that. If anyone fullfills his dutys in a vine/weed the
music spreads as fast as lightning, even if the big
pond has to be crossed more than once.
Not to offend anyone, just my personal experiences.
Music unites !
Peter
