Older versions of EAC included no burning utility so for many 
the EAC/Nero combination was "the thing".
 
Newer versions of EAC support writing. Some have reported problems
but that may be simply due to the fact that EAC may not support 
those particular burners.  I've burned with EAC flawlessly with both 
a Plextor 4/8/12 and Sony 500 DVD/CD burner. In that case, after the 
CD is ripped and the cuesheet generated, simply select "write CD", 
then "load cuesheet", select your burning speed and "Make it So"
(I am guessing that the author of EAC is a ST:TNG fan)
