ICE magazine reports:

October 5 brings the release of The Yardbirds Story,
a four-disc box set on Snapper Records. Lots of
goodies are included in the set, which covers every
released recording The Yardbirds made between 1963 and
1966, plus several rarities, outtakes and alternate
takes.

During this creatively fertile period, the legendary
band was managed by Giorgio Gomelsky, who also
happened to be the first manager of The Rolling
Stones, and who contributes extensive liner notes to
the lush, 52-page illustrated booklet that accompanies
the Snapper collection. Yardbirds authority Phil
Cohen, who is responsible for researching and
compiling the material for release, provides
track-by-track commentary.

The deluxe digipak format provides digitally
remastered recordings obtained from the best available
audio sources, and sheds new light on the group’s
development through blues, rock and psychedelia,
launching the careers of guitar gods Eric Clapton and
Jeff Beck.
