The statement above is simply NOT true. Clapton may well have regretted
leaving Mayall "in the lurch," but the "70th Birthday Concert" appearance in
Liverpool, on 19 July 2003, was NOT the first time they played together
since Clapton's July 1966 departure from the Bluesbreakers.

First of all, Clapton played on Mayall's 1971 "Back To The Roots" album,
recording his guitar parts in November 1970.

Later on, Mayall appeared on stage at a Clapton concert, playing during the
encore of EC's 19 July 1974 concert in Long Beach, California. The track was
titled "Looking For Tomorrow," from the above-mentioned Mayall album.

The 19 July 2003 "70th Birthday Concert" appearance may have been Clapton's
first time playing with Mayall in 29 years -- exactly to the day -- but it
was simply NOT the first time Clapton played with Mayall after his departure
from the Bluesbreakers.
