Anyone know if Clapton plans this tour to just be for Back Home or is he planning on releasing the cd that is supposed to be finished, and touring both releases.
If this is a 06-07 tour it doesn't seem like he would be releasing the other cd for quite some time..
Also didn't Derek Trucks work on that cd too?

Chris, you're right. There was no banter on this subject and there should have been. You weren't dreaming - but I'm afraid Jack Bruce was. I can't see Clapton agreeing to do another Cream show.

The New York shows, particularly Tuesday's show, were great. But compared to London, Clapton showed a profound lack of enthusiasm. He cringed when Jack said something overly patronizing to the audience. At one point, Eric seemed to say something negative to Jack. But mostly, Clapton just stood there and played, ignoring his bandmates. Just like the old days. "And Wednesday's even worse" - that day, Clapton seemed like he couldn't wait to fulfill his obligations and get out of there.

I fully expect to get creamed for my comments. But "before you accuse me," compare the commercially available Cream reunion DVD with the video of the New York shows. The enthusiasm in London is clear as evidenced by the band members' frequent recognition of each other at the end of songs, Clapton's hyperactive left leg and his frequent smiles.

For the final New York show, the band didn't even seem to care about what they wore. Clapton wore the same T shirt he had worn the night before. And Jack wore a shirt with the inscription "WHO THE F*** NEEDS..." Sorry, I can't make out the last word(s). Check out http://home.earthlink.net/~freshcream/images/2005_1026_213338AB.JPG

Let the flames begin!

Steve,

My initial thought was that Jack Bruce was the one who was doing the dreaming. I don't see another Cream show happening.

As for the RAH & MSG performances themselves, in the end as you mention there are the various DVD's and CD's to listen to and compare. As you know my thoughts are the same as yours on this subject, they were after the shows themselves and in hindsight listening and viewing the DVD's/CD's as well.

Best Wishes,

One of my friends has a copy of the Cream concert that BBC recently transmitted on a SKY+ box. I’ve been promised a copy on DVD unfortunately neither of us know how to get it onto the DVD. We could transfer the concert onto a Digital Video camera and link that up to the PC but after that we’re lost. Will some kind soul please let me know (preferably in simple steps) how to go about putting the files onto the PC & then onto a DVD.

I don't know why Jack would make the statement to look for more Cream in the future if he didn't have at least some positive indication from Eric. Only time will tell on that one.

But I completely agree with your assessment of the MSG shows in that Tuesday was excellent, then something changed on Wednesday. I feel like I've said it a million times already, but it was the strangest vibe I have ever felt from Clapton. Aside from a seeming lack of enthusiasm, he did seem to just want to get it done and out of there, not only indicated from shortened soloing, but did you catch a couple of times he appears to be prodding Jack to get on with it and start the next number? I wonder if we'll ever know if he was feeling ill, emotionally drained, irritated, homesick or what that night?
