Hey, Eric defined his place in history the minute he recorded the Beano  
album with John Mayall...
 
That's all he ever needed to do. Just his guitar playing at this time would  
have given him a place at the table of great musicians. But, it wouldn't have  
made him the international superstar he is..Cream brought him there.
 
But the fact that he keeps evolving, keeps growing and changing, leaving  
some things behind for better or worse and picking up new things is what is  
interesting about him and keeps him relevant to the times.
