CBE, I think stands for Commander of British Empire - an honor EC recieved
recently.

This Olli/DN debate is enlightening of one thing - this digest will never
move forward unless people actually are allowed to debate things instead of
being labeled as stuck in the past or haters.

What do you think a digest of this kind is for - Olli? This is not some
teenage fan club where we all just swoon and whisper sweet nothings about
Eric Clapton. I merely pointed out that I dind't like Clapton's playing in
the Mayall 70th DVD gig and that most people felt the same way, I was
sarcastically saying it was the truth.

Your point about the occiasion being for charity is a correct one, but as
artists, do you think Clapton, Mayall go into anything thinking, oh well i'm
getting paid, maybe i should play better or hey this is a charity gig, i'll
coast. Eric as an artist, I would hope never would get into that type of
thinking, but who knows, he's human, maybe he was trying to be deferential
to Mayall or what we heard on the DVD wasn't indicative of how it sounded
live.

I'm sick of people telling me my intentions or labeling others. Everyone is
entitled to an opinion, let's leave it at that.
