Thanks to John Mills I can make good on my promise to reoffer this (CD
version, not Flac).

I'm prepared to send copies to 4 or 5 souls who ask nicely, provide a postal
address and promise to re-offer.

I haven't seen any comment on this yet, so I'll start the ball rolling...

My point of reference is the 20th Anniversary CD and my gear is mid range
quality-wise (Cambridge Audio amp and CD plus Mission 782 floorstanders). At
the risk of proving I am deaf, I'll offer the following random comments on
the (based on necessarily limited listening time at this stage):

The level (volume) has been boosted making direct comparison difficult (I
have to keep changing volume when swapping disks)

The guitars certainly stand out more (HF boost?) but sibilence is also
worse.

The bottom end seems muddier compared to the CD

The sound appears "coloured" - hard to describe this one.

Stereo separation improved?

Overall, the sound seems "harsher" - I suspect this will not be as easy to
listen to over the longer term.

Better? Worse? I'll reserve judgment until I've had a chance to listen more
extensively.

Irrespective of which mix, this remains my favourite EC album (although FTC
runs it close).

Anyway, those are my initial thoughts (for what they are worth) Anyone
else?

John, time to spill the beans. Who is Mickboy? What has he done?

Thanks again to John for making this possible.

Carey Bird
