It was 40 years ago today
The 'oo played Monterey

One of the great 'what ifs' in rocknroll history occured 40 years ago.  What 
if Cream had played the Monterey Pop fest.  Maybe between  the Who and 
Hendrix?  (the GD could have been switched to Saturday with the other Frisco 
bands)

Instead, Cream (according to Hjort, 2007) replace the Who for a gig at U. of 
Sussex at Brighton.
