[Slowhand] Crossroads Broadcast

Sat through the enjoyable broadcast and painful pledge drive last night on 
WTTW in Chicago.  The program ran from 7:30 to 10:15.  They claimed 2 
hours of programming, so there was at least 45 minutes of begging - excuse 
me - pledging with two interminable hosts and a couple of prerecorded 
Buddy Guy interview pieces that had more time devoted to the questions 
than Buddy's answers. 

Fun bits included a reference to "Change the Water" on the Complete 
Clapton CD, the "hundreds of thousands" of people at the concert in Toyota 
park, multiple references to the sweltering heat of the day (must have 
been cooler where we sat), and, as part of the action they held for a 
Buddy Guy autographed Squire Fender guitar (that is how they insisted on 
referring to it), a comment  to the effect  that people should bid because 
Buddy always wears nice hats! (Last I heard, bids were over $10,000.)

The program will be rebroadcast Sunday at 10:25 and on 12/16 at 8:00.  The 
Indiana PBS station WYIN is running the show tonight at 9:30 and Sunday at 
10:30.

WTTWD - The high def sister station to WTTW will be running the program on 
12/16 at 8:00 with several repeat broadcasts to follw, so there will be 
opportunity to see the show in high definition.
