If you listen to any blues musician to this very day, what are they play -
stuff from the 1930 thru the late 1960's.
How bad is the current Clapton Album ? What did you not like about it...
Have you guys ever thought about how a song is made ? Most albums are
created around the circumstances the person lives (or what's created and given to
him thru other sources) and if that guy is like sitting at home baby sitting
and getting out and about. He's not keeping his mind and open to new
influences. After all how did they really learn about the blues back in those days
- by listening to the radio. No doubt that guy probably sits around and digs
thru Youtube or Myspace listening to other peoples work, to stir his mind
some. Lets hope he's not sitting in a circle grouping with a bunch of jdope
addicts all the time.
But, having said that about dope addicts, there's really nothing wrong with
doing that in terms of helping people. In fact, that's a quite stimulating
process and it's a lot of fun breaking down peoples walls and getting them to
open up and befriending them and well some you just don't want to be there
friends either.
Everybody is different.
You know how Peter Townsend writes music - he rides around the country in a
Winnabego and well, experiences life. I believe his girl friend podcasts a
show from it. Quiet creative if I say so myself.
Course, one has to get out on the open road and meet with people, and just
make friends where ever you go.
I often thought about befriending people and asking them simple questions
about there life and where they've been - typically some old black person in the
south, maybe even a few white folks. Depending on there nature, but can
you imagine how everybody interprets a person differently.
Ever hear that song by Lynyrd Skynyard "Curtis Lowe" how do you think that
song was formulated ? Better yet, listen to "Searching".... Heck, when was
the last time you guys listened to that double album set "One More For The
Road"...
Clearly, what happen to Clapton he carried the torch up until Skynyrd and
the Allman Brother well, pretty well took that torch away and what do you think
he did, return to his roots - The Blues.
He wigged out on dope and booze, his manager at the time Roger Forrester was
just baby sitting him.
Clapton had to hit bottom. He must have really been a loud mouth - a know
it all. An well, in due process was humbled.
Go listen to some Skynyard "Clapton", find that spot where you stopped at
and GO FORWARD !!
You've gone backward long enough... listen to your fans - an album hard to
listen to is no album at all.
Wonder what the last album Skynyard sounded like ? Like a come back album
for Clapton.
