What exactly is being released next month?
Theres a CD for $16.26 at Amazon.com & £8.99 Amazon.co.uk release date 13
& 12 Sep, respectively.
Theres a CD+DVD (WEA/Rhino) for $13.12 at Amazon.com release date 13 Sep.
Theres a CD at Amazon.co.uk for £14.76 (2 discs 10 tracks and 11 tracks
[1 by Taj Mahal only] apiece on the U.K. listing) release date 12 Sep.
Theres an Japanese Import (say what???) for $36.99 at Amazon.com & £35.99
at Amazon.co.uk set for release around 27 Sept.
Is there anything of Claptons that doesnt take financial acrobatics to get
in a complete set these days?
Theres been a lot of discussion around the Clapton/Robertson collaboration
recently. My view is that the album is well produced and mastered, but
nowhere near as great as the self-titled Robbie Robertson album, which was
a joy to hear from the first listen. Any guitarist could have done Claptons
contributions on Clairvoyant just as competently, cause thats all they
really are. In fact, the best guitar work is by pedal steel guitar
wonder-boy Robert Randolph on the opening number. I put on the demo tracks
CD first and my initial thoughts were what a load of crap. Depression,
depression, depression.
As mentioned elsewhere, its questionable whether Eric appears on the demos.
With that in mind, can anyone tell me if Eric actually plays on the demo
version of Wont Be Back found on the Japanese imports, or wait for it
..
How to Become Clairvoyant Collectors Box Set featuring:
* How To Become Clairvoyant CD [12 tracks]
* Bonus CD with 10 additional tracks [2 EXCLUSIVE new tracks, 6
songwriter versions and 2 outtakes]
* 3 180-gram clear vinyl LPs containing the 22 tracks from the album
and bonus CD
* DVD containing 3 multitrack files (When The Night Was Young He
Dont Live Here No More and This Is Where I Get Off) from the How To
Become Clairvoyant album.
Oh, the price tag is $302.80 now Im no cheap-skate, but this is
ridiculous. Looks like Eric told Robbie what his company was doing with the
Layla box set. Robbie then thought, Hmmm, good idea, Ill simply triple the
price of my box-set. Always thought the guy was a bit of a toss.
