[Slowhand] Old Sock

I've played EC's new album twice today, and it pains me to say that I'm not feeling it. For me it's like a bit of 'Backless' meets 'Back Home'. Some mild reggae inspired songs, much like 'Revolution', and standards like 'All of Me' and 'Born to Lose' just make me wonder what's going on with the song selections. A nice tribute to Gary Moore with 'Still Got The Blues'. I couldn't help but wonder how it would sound, if given a little 'Before You Accuse Me' style treatment rather than the mellow acoustic offering on the album. 'Gotta Get Over', much like "Travelin' Alone" on the Clapton album is the lone attempt at a more electric guitar driven song. I'm sure after a few more listens I'll have a different take but right now I'm hearing my guitar player singing 'All of Me' and I'm a little sad.

Catchy, backup singers, vocals, gritty, hints of other
influences/sounds, and wah-wah mixed = all good. Hopefully he'll play it
live in place of one of the old staples...

Hi! I listened to the new single, and I liked it! I even took a leap of
faith and pre-ordered the album via Amazon. Interestingly, Amazon is
offering the album on both CD AND vinyl LP.
 
I'm also going to see the man in Hollywood, FL...on March 30th! How cool is
that? I can't wait!

I listened to the new single and I liked it. I'm just curious about the rest 
of the record.
He's going be in Houston next month but I'm passing on this tour.
Tickets cost to much these days and people don't seem to listen anymore.When 
I think back and I paid $6.00 to see the Dominoes. Oh well
