I heartily disagree with both you and Kevin.  I think this album is much more creative and soulful than EC's last effort despite the presence of 10 covers again.  

Fans and those who assert they are fans, forget that Eric is still, at heart, a live musician.  If you want to see him wail on his Strat you'll need to attend a live performance, if possible.  With the exception of the Nothing but the Blues tours in'94-95 on the heel of From the Cradle, EC's most recent studio songs are not heavily represented during most of his tours.  So one can wait for another world tour and hope it comes in support of "Pilgrim II"or they can accept the fact that after 50 years in the music business, Eric Clapton has paid his dues and cannot please everyone. So just try to enjoy the music and lighten up a bit.
