I live in Evanston IL and lived in Winnetka at the time. I remember
hearing stories about this jam.

It is a true story as I have heard a few people over the years talk about
it and from reading the WTTW article that confirms it even further.

"Since it's reportedly before the Blind Faith concert at the International
Amphitheater in Chicago, it must have been earlier in the day as the group
was at the Mid West Rock Festival in West Allis the previous day. Perhaps
it would help is someone could confirm if clothing stores were open on a
Sunday back in the day? If closed, then this show in exchange for clothing
could have happened on Blind Faith off-days from Monday, 28 to Thursday,
31 July.

The Bonnie Bramlett quote is inaccurate. Read somewhere that her
commentary on "I'm So Glad" happened while Clapton and the Bramletts were
travelling together and the song was playing on the radio. After her
commentary on the singer being glad., Clapton sheepishly admitted it was
him singing. (Anyone out there that can help with this too?)

Kevin"
