Westley,

Just spoke with a friend that was contacted by someone from Fema regarding
a phone call she received. Apparently someone called her cell and
identified themselves
as a FEMA rep, they asked her for her id number, but she was driving and
didn't
have it available, then they told her that her social would work to look up
her info.
Well it did work, they were able to look at all her information regarding
her claim
and told her that FEMA would pay for certain things. Well she went to a
FEMA location
today to check on this phone call, nothing was noted in her file, and FEMA
believes that
she was a victim of fraud. The real FEMA agent advised her to write a
letter explaining
this information, and told her if she is ever contacted again by a FEMA rep,
require that
she meet that person in person. Do not give any information over the phone.

We are all waiting for a phone call regarding any information on our
property and unfortunately
there are scam artist amoung these phone calls. So please be vigilent
regarding phone calls you receive, remember just like when you received a
call at home, do not offer any information up front, let them give it to
you.
