I agree, the state benefitted under Edwards.  The point I was trying to get
across was that he was a polished politician & had the gift fg gab.  This
helped him to keep getting elected, even though everyone knew he did shady
things.

Edwards kept getting elected because believe it or not, he never took from
the state. Don't get me wrong, he got kick backs, but nothing ever came out
of the state coffers- his last term he even refused a paycheck until the
state was debt free. Crook or not, teachers got raises, jobs were made, and
people of low and middle incomes tended to have better times. Like I said,
never said he wasn't shady, but he ALWAYS left the state better finacially
then the way he got it.
