Paul, perhaps you are correct in your judgement:

"About 4,000 homeowners have signed up for the gutting program being done by
volunteers. But with only about 1,300 homes completed, officials said it's
unclear how many houses will have been gutted through the philanthropic
program by the Aug. 29 deadline."

**..NOW, who's "bright idea" was it to begin a mandatory/enforcement of
gutting datelines before the state can implement its ROAD HOME PROJECT??? If
you back people into a corner, they will either implode within and wither or
strike back with every gasp of breath left in their inflamed nostrils. Is
this leadership?

Yes, St. Bernard needs cleansing. But, not at the expense of St. Bernard
Citizens who have been devastated financially and emotionally. Forcing
people to meet a deadline before they have any grants to move on will only
exacerbate the needy's demise--post-traumatic disorder, "more" suicides,
bankrupcies, fines, and a mob at the council meetings, I'm sure.

The cart before the horse syndrome. Let Louisiana sort out its clear path
for recovery without pushing buttons.

So let it be written--so let it be heard.
