Jer,

I understand that logically it would "makes sense" to prioritize projects
such as medical services (hospital), sewerage, drainage, etc.....

But if the funds are available, the parish administration has to take
advantage the federal government's available funding for any and all
infrastructure improvements no matter what they are.

Besides, It's not like the parish administrators put everything else on hold
in order to build a park.

They are working on all the issues that you mention.

There are people out there with children who welcome the park upgrades.
What was the last count at the schools? Wasn't it over 3,000 children?
They need clean and safe facilities.

All ages will get good use out of the park if it has the right amenities
such as a walking/jogging track, playground equipment, dirt track races, an
updated concession stand, updated scout house, etc.....

But as I've stated earlier, it would have been nicer if they could have
upgraded Borgmouth park since it is centrally located and close to the
highway so that traffic in the residential areas would be minimized.

But if the parish doesn't own the land at Borgmouth, Val Reiss is definitely
the next place to upgrade. The only downfall with Val Reiss is the
mosquito's are pretty rough when we get an east wind.

The parish administration was working on this well before Katrina and it may
finally see the light of day.

How long a project is it? 2 or 3 years to completion? Look how far the
parish has come in 1.5 years and see what it will look like in 3. Now is
the time to get it going.

Kent
