Jill,

the agreement was based on areas that involved large tracts that were sold.
The decision was not and should not be involving areas where there are
remaining residents. Murphy discussed that with us and expressed agreement
with that concept. I do not know that it was reduced to a written MOU but
it probably should be. I will follow this at Tuesday's meeting.

thanks for the input.

God Bless,
craig

Craig,

I saw the news broadcast about a resident living on Jacob Dr stating that
she felt that Murphy was transparently forcing her out. She cited the
situation of the missing sidewalk that had been removed by the demo crew on
both sides of her home. She stated that she couldn't take a walk like she
use to. Where will the children ride their bikes? In the street?
Are we in fact being transparently forced to move and sell to Murphy?

Prior to Katrina the ADA committee (which I was a commissioned member) was
working towards having proper sidewalks etc put throughout the parish to
allow special needs persons the ability to be able to walk or have
wheelchair access on sidewalks and not have to use the street.

Additionally with the sidewalks gone the fill that has been put on the empty
lots is going into the streets and being be washed into our drains.

I have an existing claim with Murphy right now because when they chopped off
the sidewalk of the adjacent property it created a crack in the part of my
sidewalk that is actually part of my driveway. Eventually, from continuing
to drive over it to park, it will break away leaving mud exposed.

How could the parish issue permits allowing the removal of our sidewalks
regardless of the location?
