Now that's interesting John. Here's a snippet of some of his comments
earlier:

A lot of people around here were mad at Craig at the time for dubbing New
Orleans "Baghdad on the Bayou" and opining, "Fraud is in the culture of
Iraqis. I believe that is true of the state of Louisiana as well."
For anyone who missed his point, Craig added, "Louisiana and New Orleans are
the most corrupt governments in our country, and they always have been."
Government "dysfunction" increased the Katrina death toll, Craig told a town
hall meeting in Idaho, and provided this insight on our law enforcement: "A
rookie cop on the ground in New Orleans, they pay him or her $17,000
starting pay and then wink and say, 'You'd better make the rest of it on the
street.' "
As for the Lower 9th, Craig said, "I'm not humorous when I suggest we should
turn it back to what it was, a wetland." Well, there was one thing we could
agree on. Craig wasn't being humorous at all.

I agree, Jill, simple communication could have helped matters out.
But
let's face it, Junior was never a master of PR - not a criticism,
but a fact
even he would agree with. I tried my best to do that for him when
possible,
but at times got criticism from others close to Junior for doing it
and/or
found it to be thankless or unappreciated.

But I certainly understood the reasons why the League sent out the
letter.

P.S. I should note that one of members of Congress who spoke with us
and
appeared to be really sympathetic to our cause in Washington was
U.S.
Senator Larry Craig from Idaho (laugh).
