Wes: "Landry has too much baggage of his own and people would rather have
the
devil they know instead of the unknown devil."

Jer: **I wouldn't want the devil. And most certainly, Stephens not only
played the part, I'll be willing to say that he's bought huge tracts of real
estate in that "hereafter". 

"Remember, Landry was found guilty of showing favoritism while a Justice of
the Peace.  "

**I don't usually bet my fortune (and it's minimal these days), but we can
unequivably say that Mr. Stephens is NOT a 'Favoritist" when it comes to
favors, "owe-thems" and doing what it took to get ahead <smile>

"The only thing we have on Stephens is stories. "

**Well, in a court of law, these stories would be as believable as the
masses who have to tell them and know what it is like inside Mr. Stephen's
circle of acquaintances and tall-alls. Stories in court can usually be taken
seriously by merely placing a hand on the holy bible.

"Until someone can pin him down or he is challenged by a viable candidate,
he will continue
to be re-elected."

**Most are intimidated by coming forward. However, once a grand jury and
or/Feds get hold of something they deem reliable, the ax can and probably
will fall. Mark these words.

"I would vote for Stephens over Landry any day." --Westley

**I wouldn't knowing what's going to happen some day futuristically.
