1. Who taught you to carve, if you were taught by someone else?

1/2/3)- Would consider myself self-taught as I have never taken a class. First got the bug around 1978 while stationed in Germany and was blessed w/ the opportunity to meet and talk w/ some of the world class carvers in Oberramageau (and of course see their work). Upon returning home, I carved for several years w/ nothing but an old Barlow knife and knew of no carvers in my area. Discovered Chip Chats and bought a couple of books and soon came to realize that there are lots of "y'all" out there and lots of info as well!
