Had some tutoring when I learned to carve in steel a number of years ago
but found my own way with the wood and bone carving.

Always had an interest in sharp tools and seemed to take to the art
easily but being a card-carrying "book-aholic" it wasn't long before I
had a wall full of resource books on the subject!

My first carving was when I was Cub Scout and was a wolf's head which was,
now that I think about it, made out of a soup bone! Hmmm? Come full circle
I guess... now the bones don't make it into the soup.

Never got into carving fully until my 'early' retirement more than 10 years ago
when I was still a 'pup'!
