I have a question about a shallow relief carving that is warping. The carving is in basswood that has the bark on the edges.. so, I couldn't glue the boards up alternately to eliminate the warpage.
So, the question is.. being this is a shallow relief ala, Fred/Elaine Stenman type.. can I remove the warpage by removing an equal amount on the back of the board? I've heard you can run the back of hte board over a table saw and cut an "X" in the back.. but wondering if there is another alternative.
Thanks for any help
