Patti
I just went to your web page and I am quite impressed with your work. You
have every reason to be proud of it. I know nothing about Kachina dolls
and accuracy of history, but they look really good to me. Your bark
carvings are right up there with many carvers.
You have expressed so well what I and I'll bet, most carvers
feel. Unfortunately there are a lot of people in this world who have no
interest in art or good hand work, and have no desire to understand or
appreciate it. Just figure, that that is their loss, and they have a big
gap in their life. Trust your gut, ignore the art challenged and go by
what people with interesta and some knowledge say. I've only been carving
in a serious way since last fall. I have done some things, like soap stone
off and on thru the years, mostly off so I'm no expert, but I know lots of
people like that.

The others more than make up for them. Trust your own instincts, don't
worry about others. (yeah, easier said than done.) go to websites and
look at others, and compare. You can be proud of your work.
