Hi John,

The book  Songbird Carving II   by Rosalyn Leach Daisey published by 
Schiffer Publishing has excellent painting as well as carving 
instructions for a blue jay, northern cardinal, house sparrow and 
American robin.  There are plenty of photos of the process, color 
charts, illustrations and bird studies.
