[Woodcarver] File size for web images...

Larry:

Congratulations on the new camera. Hope you have LOTS of fun with it.

Take the pictures that are 72 DPI (dots per inch) for anything that is 
to show on the web. I would suspect this is the VGA setting in your 
camera's image-size preferences.

The problem with taking images at this LOW resolution is that they are 
good for not much else but showing on the web. S what I do is take 
images at highest resolution my camera offers, when photographing my 
carvings, so I have hi-res archival images. Then I process a COPY of 
the hi-res image (cropping, adjusting, etc) so that it is reduced in 
file size to 72 DPI, for use on the web. Thus I have TWO copies of the 
original image: low-res and hi-res.
